Job Description The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) governs finance, accounting, investments, and insurance. The CFO manages banking relationships, tax needs, high level projects, as well as conduct full-cycle accounting, reporting, forecasting and planning. The CFO must control costs and maintain strong customer relations. Extensive experience working with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate accounting software is a must. Responsibilities and Duties Accounting / Administration Maintain the integrity of all accounting and aspects of human resource administration and related activities Produce monthly financial management reporting including P&L & Income Statement Maintain internal controls to safeguard the integrity of the company’s assets Complete understanding of both open and closed Job labor & Costs Meet all established deadlines Oversee the process of establishing and monitoring the annual budgets Monthly financial analysis, develop appropriate remedial recommendations Rigorously manage cash, accounts payable, billing and accounts receivable Manage the company’s fiscal and government compliance (federal, state, and local) Coordinate all audit activity, both internal and external audits Financial/Insurance Team Building Leverage strengths of current team members, help to clarify roles and responsibilities Develop and implement programs to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization, with all departments Create and promote a positive and supportive work environment Organize, innovate, and motivate ALL to employ new methods to achieve established goals Technology Manage accounting/construction/reporting software Encourage and coordinate ongoing utilization and continuous learning of same Work with management to develop in house Crystal reports as needed Core Competencies Problem Solving Financial Management Technical Capacity Performance Management Ethical Conduct Communication Proficiency Personal Effectiveness/Credibility Qualifications and Skills Position Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting finance or business administration Minimum of 7 years financial leadership/management experience Minimum of 5 years construction and real estate development related experience Familiarity and comfort working in a multi-company environment Extensive experience with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate accounting software Company Description SDS is an award winning, world class real estate development company based in Brooklyn NY.
