Job Description We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Controller. This role primarily oversees the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives. To qualify, the ideal candidate has acquired a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in addition to at least seven years of progressively responsible experience in a hospital setting. RESPONSIBILITIES : The Controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of the hospital. The Controller is responsible for the production of periodic financial reports, accounting records maintenance, enhancing the accuracy of the hospital's reported financial results and generating comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. This position ensures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards. The Controller administers the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, policies and procedures. Coordinate year end audit with CPA Firm . MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent business experience 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in a hospital environment Certified Public Accountant preferred Company Description New York Community Hospital is a 134-bed, non-profit acute care hospital located in the Midwood and Madison Park section of Brooklyn.
