Description

Clowns Without Borders (CWB-USA) is a non-profit organization which offers resilience through laughter. We aim to relieve the suffering of all persons, especially children, who live in areas of crisis including refugee camps, conflict zones and other situations of adversity. We partner with individuals and organizations to bring small teams of professional performing artists to share performances and workshops with children and their families in refugee camps, conflict zones, or with communities who have experienced trauma or crisis.

CWB recognizes that our work is made up of many small moments. Although small and purely emotional, these moments build upon each other staying with children as they grow and support their incredible resilience.

Behind the professional artists who volunteer to perform on CWB projects is a small team of skilled, committed and passionate staff.

The Communications Officer supports the Development Director and Program Manager, ensuring day to day function of CWB-USA communication, including social media, website, blogs, volunteer and email newsletters. They proactively create on-brand content, copy, and graphics in collaboration with staff and artists for different campaigns. They field communication inquiries and provide media for press inquiries. They execute the current marketing strategy and adapt it when necessary. They support local CWB fundraising events.

This is part time job, on salary at $13 240 annually. The position generally requires approximately 17 hours a week.

Job hours are flexible, however the Communications Officer will occasionally work weekends and evenings in support of international partners, remote artist teams and to respond proactively to media crises.
