This role is key in designing solid core products for textiles, which is the largest part of the business and key volume driver. This candidate will be designing core products that are successful, directly adds to the total volume of the business and allows for more design experimentation.
This aligns with the overall brand stategy of material and fabric innovation to keep us ahead of competition. It is key to have a person with an eye for the right aesthetic backed by strong technical knowledge to constantly drive innovation in this area.
Essential Functions:
* Translate trends into concepts that respond to business needs (e.g., price points, geographic considerations) for the relevant product category.
* Develop SKU:level designs from conception through revisions to sample approval.
* Create presentation boards.
* May present products and concepts to Merchandising.
* Ability to sell a concept
* Gather market data on key fashion trends considering such elements as fabrication, materials, color schemes and designs.
* Identify ideas to be developed.
* Tracks department samples and ensures all samples are approved in a timely manner.
* Design products using style, theme, and mood. Present to management for approval and modifications, if necessary.
* Love to work collaboratively in a group, you have an innate willingness to dig in and contribute with your team
* Are driven and motivated by the possibilities ahead
* Ability to think outside the box but still deliver
* Are a true business owner; comfortable with decision making and calculated risk taking for the benefit of your business

* Pride yourself on the quality of work and are a stickler for the details
* Naturally challenge yourself and others to grow
* Minimum 5 years product design experience.
* Degree in Design or equivalent experience.
* Design Skills, Creative and Inspirational thinker, Deadline driven.
* Computer skills: photoshop, illustrator, ned graphics
