Director of Infrastructure Architecture Salary: up to $160,000 Commensurate with Experience Excellent Benefits PackageBrooklyn, NY The successful candidate will serve as a Director of Infrastructure Architecture reporting to the IT Services Division. Responsibilities will include:Manage a team Data Center Architects;Select technical implantations that best serve the agencies' needs and adhere to IT's guiding principles;Lead, advocate and practice enterprise architecture best practices;Develop solutions for the enterprise and business application IT segments;Review and select products and solutions to ensure that they adhere to architecture and are in the best interest of the City; Lead technology initiatives, project teams, and problem solving teams;Lead architecture team peers required to ensure alignment of all related architecture processes, standards, strategies, and roadmaps;Partnership with the Service Delivery team and their associated service providers is required in order to successfully architect solutions that fit their needs;Recommend and arbitrate between technical choices that best serve the agencies' needs and adhere to IT's guiding principles;Advocate and practice enterprise architecture best practices;Develop solutions for the enterprise and business application IT segments;Review products and solutions to ensure that they adhere to architecture and are in the best interest of the City;Lead technology initiatives, project teams, and problem solving teams;Partnership with architecture team peers required to ensure alignment of all related architecture processes, standards, strategies, and roadmaps;Partnership with the Service Delivery team and their associated service providers is required in order to successfully architect solutions that fit their needs;Oversee the operations continuity management which ensures information, data systems and networks are available;Design and implement load balanced redundancy and business continuity procedures for re-establishing servers, databases, and operating systems in the event of a disruption;Perform and analyze recovery simulations for the continuity of services;Provide subject matter expertise for deep dives;Develop and build space requirements in coordination with the Service Owners, DCAS and DoITT Facilities;Manage special projects and initiatives as assigned. Preferred Skills: The preferred candidate should possess the following:Bachelor's degree with a concentration in computer science or electrical engineering;Strong knowledge of Enterprise Storage technologies and industry best practices;Strong knowledge of Backup and Recovery technologies and industry best practices;Experience with Server Hardware Platforms (x86, SPARC);Strong knowledge of Virtualization Technologies and best practices;Data Center Migration Architecture experience;Highly motivated, positive, detailed oriented and responsible;Good team player with good written communication skills; Project Management experience; Public Cloud, Private Public Hybrid Cloud experience; Disaster Recovery experience. Qualification Requirements: BA/BS and 4 years of related technology experience with 18 months in a managerial/lead capacity -OR- Education and Experience equivalent.
