Position Overview
Nanotronics is looking for an enthusiastic, proficient, and inspired Industrial/Product Designer to join its growing team in Brooklyn, NY. The ideal designer will be responsible for designing and iterating on Nanotronics tools and product line. They will develop an archive of conceptual products, and have an interest in manufacturing, infrastructure, additive manufacturing, science, robotics, transportation, architecture, and interiors. The ideal candidate will also have experience with design for production and/or manufacturing at scale. Please submit your portfolio and/or website when applying to the position.
Key Responsibilities
:Produce CAD drawings for current and future Nanotronics tools
:Create sketches and drawings of conceptual projects
:Coordinate and facilitate designs with Engineers at Nanotronics Automation, our manufacturing center in Hollister, CA
:Create renderings, still and motion, of current, future, and conceptual products
:Display an innovative, meaningful approach to design
:Research design trends and product limitations
:Evaluate product safety, appearance, and function to determine if a design is practical
:Maintain archive of designs
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
:Proficient in Solidworks, Autodesk, Keyshot, Adobe, and other CAD, engineering, and simulation software
:Strong written and verbal communication skills
:Highly organized and detail:oriented
:Ability to work under tight deadlines and on budget
:Strong lateral thinking and problem:solving skills
:Ability to communicate clearly with Machinists, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers
:Strong and curious portfolio
:Interest in robotics and additive manufacturing, both for prototyping and production
Education and Experience
:Bachelors degree or Associates degree with equivalent experience
:1:2 years experience in product or industrial design for manufacturing and production. Relative experience with increasing scale of product design recommended.
Working Hours
Industrial/product designers need to be flexible about their working schedules, as they may be required to work extra hours, especially when it comes to meeting tight product deadlines.
