This role is part of the team responsible for retail channel look and feel every season. We lead the charge for visual display and facilitate the field teams execution of display. Store display excellence translates directly to an elevated customer experience and supports sales.
* Window design execution and installation during seasonal floor sets including construction of window:sets, sourcing materials, on:site prop handling and prop placement
* Manage the creative and aesthetic elements for window displays
* Brainstorm concepts and designs for seasonal window displays, decals and props
* Implement seasonal window concepts in mock store
* Coordinate all set and production elements for seasonal window installation strategy
* Streamline the window display process and the execution of the window directives
* Support/manage the rollout of seasonal backdrops, decals and props
* Support/manage the production and proofing process of display assets
* Maintain ongoing relationships with vendors
* Research creative competition for inspirational window displays and report your findings to management
* Communicate with the field teams to ensure visual excellence and adherence to visual standards for window displays
* Contributes ideation for the overall seasonal store environment and experience by providing new and innovative ideas of display
* Complete other projects as assigned
* Frequent travel to stores
* General support for the Visual team
* Degree in Design/Art preferred
* 2:3 years experience in visual presentation
* Previous project management experience in a deadline driven environment
* Photoshop, Illustrator, In:design, Excel, Microsoft Suite a MUST
* Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and working on a ladder
* Stay current on professional practices and trends
* Strong understanding of design and styling
* Ability to work independently and as a team
* Highly developed time management and organizational skills; prioritizing effectively and organizing work based on urgency and importance
* Ability to balance multiple projects efficiently, effectively, by deadline and within the budget
* Correctly identifies problems and is resourceful and/or innovative in finding solutions
* Ability to write and speak effectively
* Listen attentively and hear accurately
* Passion for Home Furnishings and Design and the West Elm brand
Additional Requirements:
* Ability to be mobile when setting up store floor sets for extended periods of time.
* Ability to lift and mobilize medium to large items, up to 75 lbs., while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques
