The Customer Engineer Intern will be working primarily at our customer sites which are K-12 schools. Individuals in this role will be responsible for working closely with clients and cross functional mindSHIFT support teams to manage and maintain the local and wide area network technology used by our clients. This a full-time, summer position lasting 12 weeks and will involve using both technology and business skills in support of our client's environment. The position requires basic network administration and troubleshooting skills, in depth workstation knowledge, and management of both Microsoft Windows and Apple OSX operating systems, attention to detail, business intuition, excellent verbal and written skills, and the ability to professionally present ideas to all levels of the corporate structure.
* This position will have multiple work locations throughout the Bronx, Brooklyn and Manhattan. Commuting to these locations is a requirement for this position.
* Interns will be provided with the necessary hardware to access to MS Office Suite, Google Apps, and the Internet.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Technical management of small and medium sized business networks and systems including but not limited to Windows Server, Cisco, and Meraki.
* Technical documentation of floor plans and networking infrastructure.
* Network trouble-shooting including but not limited to TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, switches, and wireless.
* Windows 7 workstation setup, configuration and troubleshooting.
* Google Chrome OS setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
* Basic working knowledge of Apple OSX and iOS.
* Workstation quality assurance check, management, and inventory.

TIME PERIOD:
12 week program
May 18th -- August 31st
Business hours 40 Hours a week typically, however depending on work load
