We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate After-School Program Director to work with us. The Program Director is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and supervision of the GSS programming at Launch Expeditionary Learning Charter School. She/he serves as the liaison to school staff and is responsible for carrying the culture and values of Good Shepherd Services. Reports To: DIVISION DIRECTOR, BROOKLYN COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS Location: 1580 Dean Street, Brooklyn NY 11213 Hours: 35 Hours/Week; Exempt Major Duties: * Creatively cultivate robust and varied range of after-school activities that students want to attend; infused with fun and engaging rituals to keep students engaged. * Provide overall leadership for the after-school program. * Develop strong linkages within day to after school programming and work in collaboration with Launch staff and administration fostering positive relationships. * Supervise youth development specialist, group leaders, consultants, administrative staff and volunteers. * Develop and facilitate weekly team meetings. * Create and facilitate trainings tailored to the needs of program. * Provide weekly supervision to staff; supporting ongoing professional development. * Create systems for documentation, reporting, and meetings. * Create and keep updated program manual specific to GSS program at Launch Expeditionary Learning Charter School. * Rotate presence in all after-school activities ensuring quality implementation. * Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the site. * Meet with principals (or designee) weekly to maintain open communication regarding programming; ensure their satisfaction. * Oversee implementation of all school-wide projects, recruitment and retention of students in after-school programming activities. * Supervise family engagement activities. * Provide crisis intervention as needed. * Ensure appropriate utilization of internal and external databases, including DYCD OST database and attend trainings as necessary. * Complete required narrative, statistical reports, report or services in a timely manner. * Implement appropriate systems with Launch to access data for outcome reports; ie attendance rates, grades, credit accumulation * Participate in appropriate school-based teams and committees. * Work closely with educational specialist to ensure after-school activities align with Common Core. * Assume responsibility for partnerships with other community groups and consultants * Monitor program budget * In collaboration with PEP, oversee implementation of program evaluation activities. * Ensure program's compliance with Department of Health (DOH), DYCD and COA accreditation requirements. * Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree required, with minimum 18 credits in child development, education or related field; Masters in related field preferred. * Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in youth development programs. * Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience required. * Ability to create and foster positive relationships with school administration. * Must be able to lead and teach a range of group activities. * Must be available for weekend training requirements. * Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based, youth and family development and trauma-informed perspective.
