The Hispanic Information and Telecommunications Network (HITN), established in 1981, is Americas only Spanish:language, nonprofit, public service media network. At HITN, we work to advance the educational, cultural and socio:economic aspirations of U.S. Hispanics and Latinos through quality, authentic programming on air, online and on the ground in communities.

No other Hispanic/Latino:focused organization combines the power of national television with an unprecedented commitment to community:based initiatives designed to empower Hispanic/Latino individuals and families. Through these initiatives we connect schools, homes and community:based organizations with educational content and the connectivity and technology to access and utilize that content.

HITN Learning, a division of HITN, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Product Management in our Brooklyn New York office. The Director of Product Management will provide the general leadership and execution of the business of HITN Learning, with developing product:market strategies for cutting:edge transmedia learning resources serving three: to eight:year:old children and their adult caregivers, parents, and teachers.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated passion for the mission of HITN and a personal commitment to furthering the goals of the organization. S/he will have had meaningful experience in five areas: (1) early childhood education or childrens media, (2) held various position of product:market management, sales or business development, (3) meeting the unique learning needs of Hispanic/Latino children including those marginalized by poverty, language, ethnicity or handicapping conditions, (4) developing P and L budgets and monitoring progress vs. budget, and (5) understanding the role that digital media, used appropriately and intentionally, can play in helping teachers, caregivers and parents provide personalized learning experiences for every young child. An active presence in Hispanic/Latino community, business or political circles would be a plus.
The selected candidate will be a key part of a growing expert and fast:paced team of digital and non:digital designers, content and child development specialists and educators developing suites of research:based transmedia resources. These will include child:facing, professional and family resources, across various media types:
broadcast or streaming TV and video
touchscreen apps

The position will report directly to the General Manager, Education and will serve as part of the HITN Learning executive team consisting of the GM, Education; VP/Executive Producer; and Director, Learning Content; and will also interface with HITNs Chief Learning Officer. The position will have two direct reports, a Product Associate and Customer and Sales Support Coordinator.

The successful candidate will:
provide the general leadership and execution of the business of HITN Learning, with product:market strategies and tactics at its core, and responsibility for P and L
provide direction for product:market placement and expansion to a talented and cross:functional team charged with developing the highest quality learning product resources for young children
ensure all product development and processes are developmentally, culturally and linguistically appropriate for young children
collaborate with HITN Marketing team to develop marketing strategies and campaigns for HITN Learning
provide direction for product:market placement and expansive growth
provide direction for product development, with Director, Learning Content, Chief Learning Officer and market partners
vet all content, themes and final products
