Employee and Labor Relations Manager Position Overview: The Employee and Labor Relations Manager promotes fair, healthy working relationships and a supportive and inclusive working environment for Graham WindhamA?s employees. He or she uses knowledge of labor laws, bargaining, negotiations and HR best practices to provide consultation to the Management team on matters including, but not limited to discipline, performance management and adherence to GrahamA?s Professional Practice Standards and Code of Conduct. Duties and Responsibilities: + Builds strong relationships with employees, supervisors, managers and union representatives. + Maintains an updated and legally:compliant handbook of personnel policies and ensures the consistent and fair application of adopted personnel policies. + Serves as HR representative during collective bargaining agreement negotiations. + Supports CHRO with managing lawsuits and settlement negotiations. + Shepherds the investigation by collaborating with the HR Associate for respective programs on claims or allegations of harassment, discrimination and other workplace misconduct; provides analyses of each case and recommendations for any necessary follow:up actions. + Provides intervention, support and recommendations regarding employee discipline, performance issues and grievances initiated by employees. + Ensures compliance with GrahamA?s personnel policies and union contract. + Ensures practices that comply with Employment and Labor laws and regulations including, but limited to: + Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) + Manages the Employee Performance Appraisal process. + Facilitates ongoing Management and Leadership training focused on HR policies and Labor Laws, employee relations, performance coaching/assessment and discipline issues. + Consults with the Management Team on workplace climate concerns. Qualifications: + BachelorA?s degree in Human Resources management, or related field required + five (5) years of relevant experience. MasterA?s degree or equivalent + three (3) years of relevant experience preferred. + Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR, SPHR, etc) a plus. Other Requirements + Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. + Excellent time management, organizational, relationship building, active listening, problem:solving and presentation skills. + Strong computer/technology skills including working knowledge of Human Resources Information Management (HRIS) systems. + Ability to be flexible and to multi:task. Ability to role model leadership behaviors under stress. + Ability to evaluate and interpret information and to make independent judgments/decisions.
