ANNOUNCEMENT OF ProfessionalVacancy STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK DOWNSTATE MEDICAL CENTER 450 CLARKSON AVENUE, BOX , BROOKLYN, NEW YORK 11203 Department: HUMAN RESOURCES Job Title: PERSONNEL ASSOCIATE Professional Rank: MP:5 Descriptive Title: HR GENERALIST Salary Range: 42,335.00:93,406.50 Line Number: Line 26526 Additional Position Information:Interested candidates may apply via e:mail: Brief Description of Duties: Reporting directly to the HR Manager, with dotted line accountability to the Assistant Vice President for Personnel Administration, the HR Generalist will serve as an internal Human Resources Business Partner and Personnel Expert to Administration, Hospital and Academic leadership and campus:wide departments by performing a variety of complex and confidential, administrative, and technical functions in support of the service mission of DHR and SUNY DMC at large. The HR Generalist will provide HR services pertinent to Exempt and Non:Exempt, union and non:union employees. In addition, this position will be charged with the primary responsibility of responding to complex inquiries received from employees, managers, agency oversight entities, and union representatives; Keeping abreast of current trends and changes in HR practices and regulations established by SUNY System Administration, the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and competing institutions, and educating colleagues and DHR Leadership accordingly on the potential implications for SUNY DMC; Ensuring the delivery of comprehensive and efficient human resources programs, initiatives and solutions to human resource:related matters; collaborating with key functional areas, including, but not limited to Payroll and Finance, Medical Board Office, Research Foundation (RF), Employee Health Services, Labor Relations, Diversity and Inclusion, and Counsel Office. Other duties will include: Physician Onboarding, Workforce Administration, Salary Administration, Affirmative Action/EEO Compliance, HR Records Management, Employee Relations and Retention, Benefits, Workers Compensation. Training, and FLSA. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY:DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization. Qualifications: REQUIRED: Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Management or a related field; A minimum of 5 years HR experience in a generalist capacity with primary focus on HR business partner skills. PREFERRED: Prior administrative experience in an Academic Medical Center or healthcare setting; Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) Certification; Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) membership; Familiarity with PeopleSoft and HRIS systems; Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications; Knowledge of Civil Service and SUNY System Payroll systems such as NYSTEP and PAYSERV; Knowledge of SUNY System Administration Policies and Regulations.
