Job Description:/h3:
The Director of Private Duty Nursing is responsible for the direct oversight of the entire PDN program, including but not limited to on:boarding and training nurses, monitoring and evaluating nurses, marketing services, intake,
staffing/coordination of services and patient care.


Head recruitment efforts for qualified PDN staff;
Hire, train, coach, counsel and evaluate clinical staff;
Develop marketing strategies and build relationships with current and potential referral sources;
Assist in the development and implementation of operational processes and systems;
Conduct ongoing evaluation of clinical policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and best practice methods;
Develop and implement ongoing training and educational resources for professional clinical staff;
Conduct routine evaluations and analysis of the accuracy and completeness of all data and other clinical information entered into the patient EMR or hard:copy records;
Update the patient EMR and hard:copy patient record with all patient, family, caregiver or other provider communication as required by Agency policy and procedure;
Assist in securing the necessary authorization for services and/or other payment source necessary to accurately bill for the Agencys services;
Participate in the Agencys performance improvement activities, including but not limited to conducting documentation and record reviews; documenting the results and presenting the outcomes to the governing;
Provide direct clinical support to patients, families, caregivers and professional staff as needed or required;
Routinely evaluate and analyze the Agencys complaint management process, ensuring compliance with all Agency policy and procedure and state regulations;
Provide direct clinical care to patients as needed or required and within the scope of licensure;
Participate in the Agency on:call process as required;

New York State Registered Nurse License OR Nurse Practitioner;
A minimum of 5 years in a healthcare management role, with at least 2 years in a director:level role or above;
Previous experience in the operational management of a certified or licensed home care agency required; Director of Private Duty Nursing experience preferred
Must be familiar with New York State Department of Health regulations;
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization;
Working knowledge of budgets and other operational metrics;
Basic skills in information technology (databases, MS Office, etc.);
Effective at prioritizing and delegating tasks to improve operational efficiencies;
Leadership and organizational skills;
Clinical Nursing experience;
Ventilator and Tracheostomy Certification, preferred; experience with Ventilator and Tracheostomy, required;
Wound Care experience required
