We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate Social Worker, Stanley Commons Special Tenants (one year, grant-funded)to provide strength-based, comprehensive counseling, case management, and group services to formerly homeless families who are currently permanently housed in newly built set aside housing units in the Stanley Commons development in East NY, Brooklyn.

Hours:35 Hours/Week; Exempt (one year, grant-funded)
Major Duties:
Engage and assess up to 48 newly settled, formerly homeless families to identify counseling, case management, and other needs that would support the family in their successful transition to permanent housing.
Provide trauma-informed individual and/or family counseling, including crisis intervention, through office and home-based contact with the children and families identified as special tenants.
Assess tenants for a range of needed benefits and services including but not limited to: job training, literacy, health and mental health care, substance abuse services, child care, after-school services, employment, financial counseling, etc.
Establish effective referral relationships with local services providers in order to connect tenants to needed benefits and services; make and follow through on referrals for designated tenants.
Provide workshops and ongoing group sessions to ensure the smooth integration of special tenants into Stanley Commons housing, with topics ranging from money management and apartment upkeep and maintenance, to parenting skills, maintaining sobriety, and general health and wellness related topics.
Participate in weekly supervision, occasional program and external meetings, as well as all required and relevant agency trainings to ensure high quality services are provided.
Master s degree in Social Work required; other related fields will be considered.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Must be able to work two evenings per week until 8:00 p.m.
Excellent organizational, written, and communication skills.
Willing to accept one year, grant-funded position with no guarantee of renewal.
Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and family and youth developmentperspective.
