The main purpose of this position to allow the Marketing and Communications department to dedicate a full time role to the growing portfolio of the Incubation activities at the Future Labs. The person in this role will develop and implement a Future Lab specific marketing, communications, and social media effort that targets the specific audiences and stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem on NYC, NYS, the US, and internationally. This includes developing a coordinated strategy that serves all three current Future labs (Urban, Data, Digital), along with the anticipated Veterans Future Lab, and at the same time allows for efforts that are specific to each of the 4 Future Labs, where needs may differ. The role will be an extension of and the Marketing and Communications department at NYU Tandon . The employee will develop a strategy that is approved by the Marketing and Communications department that ensures that the Future Labs are well represented and actively engaged with the specific entrepreneurial communities and that NYU Tandon is adequately appraised and represented in all Future Labs activities. This role will also manage the monthly newsletter for the Future Labs and supports internal and external events run by the Labs in coordination with the SchoolA?s overarching communications plan.Required Education:Bachelors degree in communications, branding, marketing or a related fieldPreferred Education:Masters PreferredRequired Experience:Candidate should have a minimum 0f 3:5 years experience in brand management, social media strategy and communications.Preferred Experience:Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical issues to different non:technical audiences. Exceptional organization and project management skills, with the ability to plan effectively, meet all deadlines, and coordinate othersA? involvement within a dynamic and fast:paced setting.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Demonstrated interest in the tech startup world. Interest in issues related to environmental sustainability, clean energy and green tech is desirable. In addition to shaping messaging, strategy, and tactics, this individual may be asked to promote stories on behalf of the Future Labs, within the overarching NYU Tandon communication plan. Must have excellent interpersonal and a demonstrated ability to communicate concisely and clearly through a variety of platforms.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Motivated, proactive, and resourceful with strong attention to detail.
